Shipping / Receiving Assistant
The primary focus of this job is to assist the Shipping/ Receiving Coordinator with all incoming and outgoing orders to assure that all orders are done safely, correctly and efficiently. Using receiving documents and other functions, assure that all is done accurately and on time. Communicates with customers as required for outbound freight schedules. Keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Checks outbound shipments for accuracy and readiness for customer delivery.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Prepare B/L, SDS, Labels for products to be shipped
*Assure all fittings and closures are secure on containers
*Affix proper labels to containers
*Contact transportation companies for scheduling and changes
*Maintain warehouse and shipping/receiving area by sweeping, pick up trash, use floor machine, keep sample area clean, empty trash
Miscellaneous maintenance
*Capable to drive electric, gas and hi-rise forklift and capable of loading/unloading trucks
* Sample incoming raw materials wearing the proper PPE per SDS
*Maintain sampling supplies and keep the warehouse/sample supplies office clean
*Calculate using basic mathematics
*Responsible for own actions in a chemical manufacturing setting as it relates to the environment and safety of others
*Enter ship/receive data into inventory system
*Clean tops of containers before shipping
*Stretch wrap containers on pallets as needed
*Cycle count inventory
*Pull orders from all levels in the racks, based on Sales order information and instructions provided
*Other duties as assigned by Assist Warehouse Coordinator and/or Manager
*With short notice, be able to work over or come in early as required (Normal Shift is 8-4:30, M-F)
*Required to be here for the annual End-Of-Year Inventory

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :
Level- Minimum High school diploma or equivalent
Degree- Associates degree strongly preferred

EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE :
*Must be able to use computer and be proficient with Microsoft Outlook
*Must have forklift driver experience in a manufacturing environment.
*Able to use SAP inventory systems (can train right person)
*Individual should be a self-starter and very motived individual who is able to work alone at times in a warehouse setting.
*Have experience working in a heavy industrial chemical environment.
*US citizenship or permanent resident visa required due to export controls regulations.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
*Be able to speak, read and understand English
*Must be able to get to work every day on time.
*Have experience working in heavy industrial chemical environment
*Learn and accept safety procedures
*Professional speaking on the telephone
*Be able to wear personal safety equipment provided by Alberdingk Boley, Inc. (gloves, safety goggles, hard hat)
*Work in work clothing, long sleeve shirt, pants (no shorts, tee shirts)
*Be able to maneuver 500-600 pound container/drum
*Basic mathematics including but not limited to add, subtract, multiply, divide, percent calculations
