Heavy Equipment Operator
Bedford Public Works is seeking a full-time heavy equipment operator for its
Grounds Division. The work involves a frequent and high level of physical effort
under varying weather conditions. Proven ability to operate Grounds maintenance
equipment is required. Use of backhoes, loaders, and heavy plowing equipment is
desired. Qualifications include a High School diploma, a valid Massachusetts Class B
Commercial Driving License with air brake endorsement, a 2B/1C Hydraulic Hoisting
License, and a proven good driving record as evidenced by a Registry of Motor Vehicles
report. The position includes a 5-day, 40-hour work week in addition to mandated overtime
during emergencies or special work details such as tree-related issues, cemetery details,
snowstorms, and event staffing. A complete job posting and application is available at
