Dept of Public Services Seasonal Employees Seasonal General Laborer Positions,

$15.00 - $16.00 hourly, no benefits. Successful completion of Civil Service Examination is required, and applicants must meet all requirements set forth in the Employees Civil Service Ordinance. Pre-employment background investigation and substance abuse testing is required.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position performs minor hydrant/valve maintenance and removes, replaces and patches various types of
pavement, asphalt, sod and landscape. Also, removes and replaces manhole covers. An individual in this position
performs the following duties: conducts surveys and inspections to ensure that the Township’s down spout ordinance is enforced; operates construction and maintenance equipment such as pick-up trucks, shovels, pick-axes, compressors, post pounders, sledge hammers and hand tools; adheres to all applicable safety procedures while operating equipment and tools; participates in safety training. In addition, assists in the routine maintenance of equipment and tools by cleaning and checking after use and refers defects or needed repairs to immediate supervisor.
