Equipment Mechanic (2nd Shift) – Public Works - $31.78 per hour - Mechanical work in the maintenance and repair of motorized and related equipment. Performance in motor and equipment repair work on automobilies, trucks, street cleaning, and construction equipment; making diagnoses and effecting replacements and repairs of mechanical, hydraulics, and electrical components. High School diploma/GED supplemented by successful completion of a recognized motor and equipment mechanic apprenticeship program; and experience as an equipment or automotive mechanic. Welding and small engine knowledge beneficial. Valid driver’s license required. Must be able to obtain necessary hand tools required by a skilled motor and equipment mechanic. Purchasing Coordinator – Finance/Purchasing - $19.01 per hour – Coordinates the purchase of supplies, equipment, and commodities for all departments following prescribed procedures; assists departments as needed with the purchase of items; develops and processes purchase specifications. Associate’s degree or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school; one to two years of related experience required. Deadline by 5:00 p.m., 3/15/19.
Public Works Director - $130,000 per year, negotiable dependent on qualifications. The City of Peoria seeks a proven and successful Public Works Director. The position is responsible for the Public Works Department under the direction of the City Manager. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Civil Engineering, construction management or related field; a related advanced degree and Professional Engineer (PE) certification are desirable. A minimum of 10 years of management level experience in public works administration is required. Open, accessible, participatory management style with excellent communication skills essential. Appointed by City Manager. Initial screening April 5, 2019. Open until filled.
