City of Peoria is in need of Project Coordinator. $19.01 per hour. Initial screening date Tuesday, January 16, 2018.
Coordinate multiple projects within the Community Development Department by providing advance administrative/financial support to the Department. Projects include demolition program, rat abatement program and code enforcement educational efforts. In addition, the position provides complex administrative work related to the real estate function of the Community Development Department. The entry level position is ideal for a candidate looking to get exposure to local government and, more specifically, the functions of the Community Development Department. An ideal candidate would have strong customer service skills, the ability to function in a fast-paced environment, and represent the City of Peoria to the general public in a professional manner.
Associates degree or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school; minimum typing speed of 45wpm; and one to two years of related experience required. Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job, considered.
Knowledge of objectives and practices of administrative functions of a municipal government; recordkeeping, report preparation, filing methods and records management techniques; correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary; standard business arithmetic, including percentages and decimals; general office procedures, policies and practices, as well as basic knowledge of computer and other general office equipment; applicable state, federal and local ordinances, laws, rules and regulations; and all computer applications and hardware related to performance of the essential functions of the job.
