Who will you be working with:

Essential Functions (including but not limited to): Security personnel are trained for several different posts including those detailed below. Working in conjunction with the airport and government agencies, the main priority of each position is to ensure that we maintain compliance with local and federal regulations in respect to each of the following:

  • Reporting actual or potential breach of Airport Security
  • Maintain all communication protocols in a professional and efficient manner
  • Communicate with on duty San Diego Harbor Police personnel, Airport Communications Center and Security Operations Center
  • Maintaining access control to secured areas within the airport
  • Verify personal identification and access badge of person/people requesting entrance to secured areas
  • Vehicle inspection in designated areas
  • Interacting with traveling public in a professional and courteous manner
  • Prepare written reports and records of all events, i.e., discrepancies, security incidents or breaches.

Qualifications/Requirements

This position requires you obtain Airport Badging and The Department of Homeland Security requires an extensive background check to obtain badging which include 10-year verifiable background check, including criminal, employment, credit, education, and personal references. Also, must be able to pass a Security Threat Assessment as administered by the Transportation Security Administration

Additional requirements

  • Proficient in the use of radio and telephone communications equipment and procedures
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have a valid State Security License
  • Six (6) months of full-time employment experience as a registered Security Guard in California
  • Upon hire, must provide proof of legal right to work in the United States
  • Ability to effectively speak, write, and understand the English language
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must be able to pass all initial and recurrent training classes and exams as administered by Global Security and Airport Authority
  • Must have access to reliable transportation

Essential Functions (including but not limited to): Watch Officers in the Airport Communications Center are specifically trained to effectively monitor the Airport’s Communications systems outlined below. Working in conjunction with the airport and government agencies, the main priority is to ensure that we maintain compliance with local and federal regulations in respect to each of the following:

  • Perform communication and dispatch functions including but not limited to
      • Telephone call taking
      • Trunked and handheld radio system operations
      • Dispatch of operations
      • Maintenance and personnel calls to service
      • Emergency Notification to Law Enforcement
      • Mass Notification System
      • Terminal Paging System
  • Interacting with traveling public in a professional and courteous manner
  • Reporting actual or potential breach of Airport Security
  • Maintain all communication protocols in a professional and efficient manner
  • Prepare written reports and records of all events, i.e., discrepancies, security incidents or breaches.

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Customer service and dispatch experience is a must
  • Proficient in the use of radio and telephone communications equipment and procedures
  • Computer proficiency and moderate typing speed with accuracy
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have a valid State Security License
  • Six (6) months of full-time employment experience as a registered Security Guard in California
  • Upon hire, must provide proof of legal right to work in the United States
  • Ability to effectively speak, write, and understand the English language
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must be able to pass all initial and recurrent training classes and exams as administered by Global Aviation Management and Airport Authority
  • Must have access to reliable transportation
  • Willing to obtain a California P.O.S.T. Basic Dispatcher Course Certificate within one year from date of hire
