Looking to fill immediate opening in busy podiatry office in the Athens, Decatur, and Lawrenceville area. Must be willing to travel and have reliable transportation to all locations. Pay based on experience and company insurance benefits and travel allowance available per company policies.

Medical Assistant Job Summary

Medical Assistants perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices running smoothly, and to assist the physician.

Administrative duties may include: updating and filing patients' medical records, maintaining medical information, preparing patients for examination, and assisting the physician during the examination.

Specific job duties:

  • Make sure office is opened in AM/ Shut Down in PM X-ray machine maintained properly
  • Dremel tool maintained properly
  • Rooms stocked daily
  • Take trash out injections readily available at all times
  • Assist with Maintaining lab logs Autoclave cleaned and maintained
  • Instruments cleaned and sterilized
  • Check emergency drug kit Rx ledger when needed
  • Keep rooms full
  • Assist with room turnover
  • New patient thorough work up ( x-rays, vitals, new patient packet explanation)
  • Add medical history on all new patients and update all established patients history in EHR accurately.
  • Accurate and complete room setup for physician Setup for in office Surgical procedures
  • Correct consent completed accurately
  • Scribe in EHR Patient confirmations for following day
  • Assist in supply ordering Steri-cycle
  • Track pick up accurately use calendar in outlook/ also printed in each office Box closed and printed label attached
  • Mandatory use of notes in clinical for any patient correspondence
  • Respond patient messages
  • Send note to physician for review when necessary
  • Scheduling MRI's, CT's, PT, outside labs, pharmacy etc.
  • Assist front office for the following day
  • Orthotics Notify and Schedule patient appointment for pick up
  • Surgeries Schedule
  • Surgery insurance verification
  • Complete Surgical packet
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Supply Management, Excellent Written and Verbal Communication, Infection Control, Creating a Safe and Effective Environment, Organization, Scheduling, Professionalism, Customer Focus, Confidentiality, Positive Bedside Manner, Medical Teamwork
  • H.S. Graduate (Bachelor's preferred)
  • Previous medical office experience
  • Knowledge of Nextgen software, a plus
  • Customer Services skills/experience
  • Ability to comprehend established office routines and policies (See manual)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Understand HIPPA and OSHA regulations and privacy practices
  • Good organizational skills and multi-tasked abilities
  • Computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office, EMR)
  • Must be able to learn quickly from oral and written instructions
  • Must be dependable
  • Type no less than 30 WPM
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel between Athens, Decatur, and Lawrenceville areas.

  • Any other duties relating to the business operation of the medical practice that may be assigned by the physician or administration
  • Assume duties of other office personnel when an absence occurs (travel as required)
  • Other duties as determined by needs of the medical director
