OBJECTIVE/FUNCTION
Assist in all aspects of labor insuring success with organizations mission and commitment to provide quality service and workman ship to all clients, vendors and fellow employees. Using knowledge of the trade and expertise civil engineering such as man-hole covers, grade trenches or culverts, pipe position etc.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites.
• May operate hand and power tools of all types including but not limited to air demolition hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, compressors, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other power and hand tools.
• May clean and repair sites, dig trenches, enter confined spaces, manually lift and manage man-hole covers and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials.
• May assist other craft workers.
• Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions
• Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures.
• Manual loading and unloading of trucks
• Special projects as assigned by your Supervisor
• Driving
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while working. Must be able to lift materials weighing up to 120 lbs- installation requires bending, lifting-carrying and stooping. Must be able to perform heavy physical activity for extended periods of time in 8 hours increments and more if required.
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work constructively in an environment that may be stressful and in multiple locations. Must be able to work outside in extreme temperatures in excess of 110 degrees when required as well as indoors under a controlled temperature. Must be willing to wear common protective or safety equipment. May be exposed to hazardous equipment and contaminants and loud noises due to operation of machinery. Nature of work may require exposure to high-speed machines which can be dangerous.
