Operations Manager
Tom Kraemer Inc. has an immediate opening for a motivated, experienced operations manager. We are currently seeking an operations manager to oversee our landfill and recycling center in Cold Spring and transfer station in St. Cloud. Job Summary:
Manages the day to day operations of our construction & demolition (C&D) landfill and recycling center in Cold Spring and transfer station in St. Cloud and corresponding facilities. Both locations are within 22 miles of each other and regular travel between sites will be required.

Duties and Essential Job Functions:
*Ensures smooth operation of all facilities
*Reviews and evaluates work to ensure quality, timeliness and adherence to policies and procedures
*Minimizes operational costs while maximizing productivity and maintaining safety and environmental compliance.
*Develops and inspires a safety-first culture
*Communicates effectively with employees, supervisors, vendors
*Develops and interprets organizational goals, policies and procedures, and reviews and updates project plans as appropriate
*Oversees personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, and training employees and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions
*Ensures the cleanliness and organization of all facilities, yards and physical property.
*Maintains a clean and organized landfill, recycling center and transfer station
*Maintains clean and organized facilities, buildings and grounds (i.e. cutting grass, yard organization)
*Provides training and presentations as needed in a positive and professional manner
*Updates and submits required reports in a timely manner
*Regularly proposes means of improvement
*Accurately tracks waste volume and weight
*Maximizes recycling and salvage by developing best practices for sorting loads
*Properly separate and save all different items of value (metal, brass, wire, electronics, motors, etc.)
*Salvage reusable items (mowers, valuable building materials, etc.)
Qualifications:
*High school diploma or GED, college degree preferred
*Five years of relevant work experience
*Proven experience as a supervisor
*Excellent customer service skills
*Excellent problem solving
*Clean and neat with attention to detail
*Multitasking
* Self-motivated, task-oriented
*Understanding of budget, forecasting and P&L statements
Requirements:
*Equipment operating skills: Heavy equipment, Forklift, Recycling equipment operation (bailer, can crusher, etc.)
*Valid driver's license, CDL strongly preferred
*Willingness to assist or perform a wide-range of tasks
*Able or willing to learn our point of sale (POS) computer system
*Able or willing to learn email, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel
*Ability to lift 50lbs
*Willingness to work outdoors and/or in a landfill, recycling center and/or transfer station
