Truck Driver Job Summary


Wylie L.P Gas Inc. is looking for an experienced and dependable Truck Driver to join our team. The Truck Driver will be responsible for safely and efficiently hauling hazardous materials like natural gas liquids, propane, butane, Y Grade, etc..  It will be Regional driving, with Lubbock, TX, as our home base. All safety regulations and standards regarding size, weight, and break periods must be followed. The ideal candidate already has their Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) “A” with Hazardous Material and Tanker endorsement.


  • Potential income of $90,000 with a $950 per week guarantee.

Truck Driver Duties and Responsibilities

  • Practice safe, long-distance driving habits
  • Follow all company safety regulations and standards
  • Complete documentation for mileage and cargo; keep track of mileage, fuel, and toll expenses; confirm inventory matches shipping documents
  • Accurately follow maps and directions for time efficient routes
  • Plan routes to meet delivery schedules
  • Refuel vehicle and check/replace oil as needed
  • Inspect truck daily for damage or maintenance problems (tire wear, dents, etc.)
  • Report any accidents or vehicle issues encountered while driving to supervisors
  • Maintain vehicle equipment; clean windows, windshields, and mirrors as needed; keep interior of vehicle clean of debris and clutter
  • Will either unload and/or supervise unloading of hazardous materials


Truck Driver Requirements and Qualifications


  • Must have a valid and current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) “A” with Haz Mat & Tanker endorsements
  • Two (2) years’ previous professional driving experience or equivalent
  • Must have a clean driving record that will be approved by our insurance company
  • Physically fit and able to sit for long time periods, perform truck maintenance, and lift 25 pounds comfortably
  • Excellent time-management, organizational skills, and very dependable
  • Able to work some nights, weekends, extended hours, and holidays as needed
  • Railroad Commission Transport License- Company will pay all costs in getting one if you currently do not have it
